Can Özütemiz, MD

Dr. Can Ozutemiz is a dedicated neuroradiologist with clinical and research expertise in epilepsy imaging. His work focuses on the use of advanced 3T and 7T MRI to study brain abnormalities associated with seizures and epilepsy, with the goal of improving diagnostic accuracy and guiding surgical and neuromodulatory treatment planning. 

As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Ozutemiz plays a key role in the multidisciplinary care of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. He collaborates closely with epileptologists, neurosurgeons, and researchers to refine neuroimaging techniques that enhance lesion detection and network-based evaluations in both adult and pediatric epilepsy populations.

Jeffrey Rykken, MD

Dr. Jeffrey Rykken is an experienced neuroradiologist who specializes in the interpretation of structural and functional neuroimaging to localize epileptogenic zones and guide presurgical planning for patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.

As an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Rykken works closely with the epilepsy team to provide high-resolution imaging analysis, including advanced post-processing techniques that support the identification of subtle cortical malformations and network-level abnormalities. Dr. Rykken is committed to advancing neuroimaging methods that directly impact diagnostic precision and clinical outcomes in epilepsy care.

Zuzan Cayci, MD

Dr. Zuzan Cayci is a radiologist with specialized expertise in nuclear medicine and advanced imaging techniques for epilepsy. Her clinical focus includes the interpretation of PET and other metabolic imaging modalities to assist in the localization of seizure foci in patients undergoing evaluation for epilepsy surgery.

As an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Cayci plays a key role in the multidisciplinary epilepsy surgical program. She collaborates with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neurophysiologists to integrate metabolic imaging findings with clinical and electrophysiological data, particularly in complex or MRI-negative cases.

Her work supports precision localization in surgical planning and contributes to improved outcomes for patients with medically refractory epilepsy.
