Matt Bower, MS
Matt Bower is a certified genetic counselor with specialized expertise in epilepsy genetics. Since 2001, he has worked at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, where he evaluates patients and families affected by inherited forms of neurological diseases including epilepsy. His clinical role includes reviewing detailed family histories, counseling on genetic testing options, and interpreting results in the context of epilepsy syndromes, such as Dravet syndrome, SCN1A-related epilepsies, and other monogenic or complex epilepsy disorders.
Mr. Bower also works in a diagnostic molecular genetics laboratory, contributing to the integration of cutting-edge genomic technologies into the care of patients with neurological diseases including drug-resistant early-onset epilepsies. He collaborates closely with epileptologists and neurologists to support individualized diagnosis, treatment planning, and family counseling.
